Actress Payal Ghosh, known for her compassion towards animals, has taken a strong stand after discovering that one of her rescued dogs was brutally beaten in her absence. The actress, who has often used her platform to advocate for animal welfare, was left heartbroken when she returned home to find her dog bleeding and injured.

Payal, who has been caring for dozens of stray animals in her neighbourhood, had recently decided to celebrate her upcoming 30th birthday on November 13, 2025, by adopting 30 stray dogs and cats. However, what was meant to be a celebration of kindness turned into a moment of shock and distress for the actress.

Payal Ghost to take strict action against househelp

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Payal shared that she found one of her rescued dogs bleeding from its stomach after allegedly being hit multiple times by her house help using a wooden stick. "There was blood flowing from his stomach part… I can’t express the pain I felt seeing that," she said, visibly emotional. She stated that these animals trust us completely, and to see them hurt like that was unbearable.

According to sources close to the actress, the disturbing incident occurred inside the animal shelter area of her residence, where the dogs are usually looked after by her staff while she is away for work. The house help, who was responsible for their care, allegedly assaulted the dog, leaving it injured and terrified.

Payal immediately rushed the injured animal to a nearby veterinary clinic for treatment. Deeply affected by the incident, she has now decided to take strict action. The actress confirmed that she is filing an FIR against the house help and will ensure legal consequences follow. “Animal cruelty should never be ignored, not in any form,” she said. “I’ve always treated my strays like family, and I will not let anyone harm them. I’ll pursue this matter legally so it serves as a lesson to anyone who thinks they can hurt voiceless beings.”

Fans and fellow animal lovers have come forward in support of Payal’s decision to speak up and seek justice. Many took to social media to express anger over the incident and applaud her for not staying silent. Some even called her a “true animal lover” for taking responsibility and setting an example.

Despite the upsetting episode, Payal remains committed to her cause. She continues to care for the 30 animals she has adopted and says this incident has only made her resolve stronger. “Kindness is not optional,” she said in a post. “If you have the power to protect, you must use it.”
