What should be the bank balance to go to UKUnder the visa process to go to Britain, it is first seen whether the applicant has enough money to maintain himself there or not. Bank balance is an important factor in UK visa. If you are taking a tourist visa (Standard Visitor Visa), then there is no fixed amount in it but you have to prove that you can bear the expenses of the entire trip including ticket, hotel, food and return. Showing a balance of Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh for a trip of 7 to 10 days is considered safe.
Rules become more strict for students
If you are taking a student visa (Tier 4 / Student Route) then the rules become more strict. Students studying in London have to show 1,334 pounds every month i.e. a total of 12,006 pounds i.e. about 12 lakh rupees in their account as the cost of living for 9 months. Whereas for students studying outside London, this figure is 9,207 pounds i.e. about 9 lakh rupees at the rate of 1,023 pounds per month. This money should be in the account continuously for at least 28 days. This should be clearly visible in the bank statement.
These conditions have to be fulfilled for work visa alsoIf you are applying for a Skilled Worker Visa, the UK government asks you to show a balance of at least 1,270 pounds i.e. about 1.3 lakh rupees. The purpose of this amount is to ensure that you can stay in the UK without any problem for the first few weeks. This amount should also remain stable in your account for 28 days.
