Brooklyn Beckham has split opinion with a video in which he cooks a pasta dish - using water from the ocean.
Some fans praised the chef, 26, while others blasted him after he uploaded the clip on Instagram. It showed the former model dip a saucepan into the water, before chopping his tomatoes and adding them to an oiled pan in the industrial kitchen on a luxury yacht. He then adds pasta to the pot of water and lathers his signature Cloud 23 hot sauce on the tomatoes, before he presents his meal.
But Brooklyn disgusted some viewers by sourcing his water from the ocean. Although it is not clear which ocean, or indeed sea, Brooklyn is in, Instagram users have been quick to claim the water is likely to be polluted. However, others praised Brooklyn for serving what appeared to be a delicious meal.
One comment reads: "When you are sat on the toilet for the 4th time in 30 minutes you will realise that the source where you got the water from wasn’t the wisest of moves." Another critic said: "That’s disgusting using that water."

A further comment states: "Obviously, cooking pasta in sea water where there are boats that dump diesel into the sea and E.coli abounds is not really the best alternative you could have chosen."
Yet, among a string of comments praising Brooklyn's cooking skills, one person posted: "Nice work! I see you’re cooking on a yacht too. Nice one!" Another said: "Love your cooking tips with cloud Brooklyn xx."
Another social media user shared: "To be fair, Italian cooks on boats also use a splash of sea water for the flavour it imparts to a fish or pasta dish."
In 2023, Brooklyn spoke about his admiration of chefs, explaining: "One of the many things I like about chefs is they are so artistic, they are so hardworking, and it’s always every day, every minute of every hour trying to master their craft."
He also previously told Variety he’d love to open a pub in Los Angeles one day. In this interview, he said: "I would love to have my own pub. I would love to have my own sauces, knives, pots and pans... Not like a chef – I’m always going to be learning about cooking."
Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz, who wed in April 2022, are in the midst of an escalating rift with his parents David and Victoria Beckham. Last week, it was revealed Brooklyn and Nicola's Instagram accounts no longer follow his younger brothers Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 22, in the latest family drama. Brooklyn and Nicola are, though, still following Victoria, 51 and 50-year-old David on the social media app.
