Georgia Toffolo has shared seven "controversial" wedding tips that she loved forher big day, encouraging more brides to break the "rules" and celebrate the way they want to. The I'm A Celebrity star surprised fans earlier this year when she announced she had eloped with her partner, former BrewDog CEO James Watt, only giving guests 48 hours' notice.
The couple tied the knot on March 1 in Gardenstown, in the county of Aberdeenshire in North East Scotland. They shared their vows in the same church where James' grandparents were married, enjoying an intimate ceremony.
Explaining her preferences ahead of her wedding, Georgia told The Mirror: "I'm just desperate to get married! I don’t want to do any of the planning, I haven’t planned a thing, I only want to be married - it’s the opposite of how I thought I’d feel. I thought I’d be swept up in what I’m going to wear and have hundreds of people there and all of that."

By the looks of it, that's exactly what she did. Posting on Instagram, Georgia shared a video from her wedding, explaining that the couple opted for supermarket flowers and homemade cake for their low-key celebration.
In her caption, the Made In Chelsea star wrote: "Controversial? Maybe. Honest? 100%. 7 pieces of REAL advice I'd give to a 2025 bride." For her first point, Georgia said: "You shouldn’t have to invite people for the sake of it.
"Your wedding guest list isn’t a diplomatic summit. Invite the people you love. It’s your day, not a networking event. And you shouldn’t feel guilty for that!!"
Next, she claimed that "wedding cakes are a complete waste of money." "We had the children bake ours that morning. No fancy tiers, no overpriced price tag. Just made with pure love. Best decision ever!!" Georgia shared.
Her post continued: "Flowers are overpriced and overrated. I grabbed daffodils straight out of the vase on our kitchen table, and you know what? They were perfect. £2 from the supermarket and not a single florist in sight.
"You don’t need to spend the morning apart. Who made that rule up?!? Waking up together on your wedding day is actually really romantic (and calming in my opinion). Getting the chance to share your nerves and excitement together is something to be cherished."
Next, she explained why she was certain she wanted children at the wedding, writing: "Let’s be honest children bring the best chaos, particularly on the dance floor. They add magic, not mess."
As for the food, the couple knew what they did and didn't want. "No need for a three course meal," Georgia claimed. "We had burgers at BrewDog and it was everything and more. Grazing tables, pizza ovens, food trucks all way more fun than an over the top three course meal."
She added: "You don’t have to change your surname. Or he can take yours. Or double barrel. Tradition is optional, your identity isn’t."
Concluding her post, Georgia wrote: "Let’s debate in the comments… What 'rules' are you breaking at your wedding?" Responding to the post, commenters agreed every couple should celebrate their wedding as they see best. However, several viewers disagreed with Georgia's points.
Someone wrote: "I mean, you do you. Your wedding should absolutely be 100% reflective of you and your story and preferences. Your point there is valid, there are absolutely no rules when it comes to YOUR wedding!
"But language such as ‘waste of money’ ‘overpriced’ and ‘overrated’ is extremely disappointing from you as it belittles couples who DO want to prioritise those details as well as tears down the hard work, expertise and talent of small businesses."
Another response read: "I feel like you can say this as you have the privilege of experiencing luxury at any given time, for the absolute majority of people their wedding day is the one day in a lifetime when they may choose to spend a little extra to experience the finer things in life."
