Incredible CCTV footage has captured the moment a kidnappingvictim took advantage of the moment her abuser stopped to fill up his car for petrol and made a quick escape in search of help.
The woman, who was allegedly raped and kidnapped took as little as three seconds to run out of his carand over to a police car that was patrolling close by. When he stopped at a petrol station in Corinto, Minas Gerais, Brazil, she decided to seize the opportunity to call for help.
As a result, her attacker, now identified as Reinaldo Azevedo Filho, was arrested. PM Captain Márcio Brandão said: "When the attacker stops at the gas station to fill up, the victim, who is in the passenger seat, is uncomfortable and distressed, looking around.

"She sees the police car and realises the possibility of escaping the violent situation she was experiencing." The video shows the exact moment the man attempted to get into his car once he spotted the patrol car passing by, before it was too late.
The brave vicitm abruptly opens the door and makes a run for it, while he frantically tries to stop her from opening the door. Desperate for help, she climbs into the police car as the officers are quick to approach and restrain him.
The woman who escaped was a victim of kidnapping by the 35-year-old male in Conceição do Mato Dentro, according to Captain Márcio Brandão, as reported by G1. It's thought that he threatened her using a knife and forced her into the vehicle as he continued his journey to Joaquim Felício.
Afraid of her abuser, the woman fled her hometown and stayed with her brother in Conceição do Mato Dentro, but when she was alone, he took the opportunity to approach her. In doing so, he took her phone and forced her into his car. The police officers who came to her rescue just happened to be on a night patrol in the area to help prevent any crime.

At the incident the man was arrested on charges of rape, threats, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. It has since been reported by the Civil Police that the man has already been taken to prison following the horrific events.
Captain Brandão said: "The victim claimed she was sexually assaulted on the route and constantly threatened with death. Thanks to the military's actions, a life was saved," G1 reports.
