Sex and the City is long gone, And Just Like That has aired it's much-panned finale, but the feud between the franchise's two biggest stars rumbles on.
One week on from fans saying goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw (again), the beef between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrallshows no signs of winding down.
Chris Noth, who played Mr Big, has seemingly switched sides after previously having a very close bond with his on-screen wife Sarah Jessica. The actor, who was hit with sexual assault allegations in 2021, was the only member of the Sex and the City family to wish Kim a happy birthday on social media on Thursday.

The Mr Big actor was previously staunchly Team SJP. When asked about the feud in 2021, he told the Guardian: "I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Kim Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close. I liked her, I thought she was marvellous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons.
"I don’t know what her's were. I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable. I just don’t like to see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that. That’s all I’ll say about that."
In 2022, Sarah Jessica revealed that she hasn't spoken to Chris since allegations of sexual assault were made against him by multiple women in the wake of And Just Like That premiering.
Kim, who bagged $1M to reprise her role of Samantha Jones for a 70-second cameo in And Just Like That, threw some shade as she celebrated her birthday. The Liverpool-born actress liked a comment from a fan missing Samantha's presence in the now-axed spin-off.
The quip read: "And just like that…. We all know [it] was Sam (Kim) who carried that entire franchise. You, embodied everything that is the essence of a strong, powerful, and vulnerable woman. We love and respect you."
HBO announced the third season of Sex And The City spin-off And Just Like That was to be its last earlier this month, with the finale panned by critics and fans when it aired last week - sparking speculation scenes had been reshot due to a cancellation.
Despite portraying best mates for years on Sex And The City, the off-screen relationship between Kim and Sarah Jessica was far from friendly. The tension between the leading ladies has been a hot topic over the years, but following the tragic death of Kim's brother Chris in 2018, rumours of a long-standing feud exploded dramatically.
When Sarah Jessica publicly offered condolences to Kim's grieving family by commenting on her Instagram post, Kim didn't hold back. She blasted the gesture as "a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now."
As the sexually liberated PR Samantha, Kim quickly became known as a 'natural comedienne and scene stealer' - something that reportedly didn't sit well with her three co-stars, especially the show's star. Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who played Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, were rumoured to have formed an alliance with Sarah Jessica, 'deliberately excluding' Kim from their group, who allegedly became increasingly isolated on set.
Sarah Jessica confessed in an Elle magazine interview that working alongside her former co-stars proved challenging. "You're on set, you're working 90-hour weeks, you're never home, you're exhausted," she said. "Sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don't have any regrets about how I've treated people," she insisted.
During a 2017 appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, Kim addressed the bitter row, diplomatically acknowledging that Sarah "could have been nicer".
"We've never been friends. We've been colleagues," she explained, adding: "I don't see them. The common ground we had was the series and the series is over."
Speaking directly about the Carrie Bradshaw actress, Kim continued: "Sarah Jessica, she could have been nicer, she could have in some way. I don't know what her issue is, I never have."
Upon learning of these comments, Willie Garson, who portrayed Carrie's closest mate Stanford Blatch in the programme, quickly leapt to Sarah's defence.
"Dear fans, because I'm 'toxic', I'm gong to negotiate a contract for 6 months, not come to terms, then say I never wanted to do it anyway," Willie shot back, alluding to Kim's hesitation about appearing in another SATC film.
After years of silence, Sarah chose to reach out and express her sympathy upon learning that Kim's brother Chris had passed away following reports he had gone missing in 2018. Sarah Jessica was among numerous celebrities offering their support to Kim.
She responded to a social media post, writing: "Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx."
The kind gesture didn't go down well with her former co-star, who hit back by declaring "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time" and even tagged Sarah in the post for everyone to witness. Kim didn't hold back as she unleashed: "'My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.
"Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."
Following the explosive row, it came as little shock to devoted fans of the show that Kim originally declined to participate in the revival series And Just Like That.
