The transfer window is over and Manchester United can finally relax after a hectic few months at Old Trafford. It has been a busy period for the Red Devils, who have strengthened in several key areas while also trimming some fringe players from their squad. Ruben Amorim will be hoping for his new signings to gel quickly as United seek a return to the Premier League's upper reaches.
In terms of incomings, United welcomed five players at a total cost of around £216.8million. They kicked off their window by signing proven quality from elsewhere in the Premier League, bringing in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for a combined £132.5m. Both players will be expected to provide goals while also chipping in with assists for their attacking team-mates.
Cunha was one of the few shining lights in a poor Wolves team last season and should relish the pressure that comes with playing for United. Mbeumo, meanwhile, will fancy himself to score plenty of times after bagging 20 league goals for Brentford in 2024/25.
United also signed teenage defender Diego Leon in the early part of the window, snapping him up from Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno. He appears to be one for the future, rather than a ready-made solution who can deliver an instant impact.
It took a while for United to make their next signing of the window by landing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. He was linked with a Premier League move for many years before the Red Devils swooped in for a transfer fee of around £74m.

Amorim is not the only manager to be a huge fan of Sesko, with former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp describing him as 'ridiculous' earlier this year.
Speaking in January, he said: "I've actually known him for a while. I knew him already when he was at Salzburg. We played a friendly game here when he was very young. I was really impressed. I thought: 'Where do they get all these players? Ridiculous.'"
On deadline day, United completed their summer business with a move for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens. They were also chasing Aston Villa stopper Emiliano Martinez but withdrew their interest in favour of the young Belgian.
Lammens will be hoping to settle in quickly as he looks to compete for starts with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. Both players have endured nightmare starts to the campaign and United will be hoping for their newest arrival to offer a welcome solution.
Several players have also left Old Trafford since the end of last season. At the start of the window, a number of players were consigned to the 'bomb squad' and went on to secure moves away from the club.
Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on loan before Alejandro Garnacho completed a £40m move to Chelsea after months of negotiations. Antony returned to Real Betis on a permanent deal while Jadon Sancho was loaned to Aston Villa.
United have also waved goodbye to Rasmus Hojlund, who has reunited with Scott McTominay at Italian champions Napoli. Meanwhile, young players Toby Collyer, Harry Amass, Dan Gore and Ethan Wheatley will hope to gain valuable first-team experience in the EFL.
