A teaching assistant has been accused of engaging in sexual relations with a teenage boy, whom she allegedly had a "flirty" relationship with since he was just 12 years old.
Stephanie Jensen, 41, who worked at Faith Lutheran School, has been charged with having sex with the teenager on multiple occasions, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Fond du Lac County Court on Monday, as reported by WBAY.
The victim claimed that Jensen began being "flirty" with him when he was only 12 years old. He alleged that Jensen was fully aware of his age, as she taught second grade at his school when he was in eighth grade, and they would frequently cross paths on the school grounds.
The teenager stated that he first had sex with Jensen in September 2024, before he turned 16 years old, as he didn't possess a driving licence yet. He informed investigators that he and Jensen had sex at least four times from when he was 15 until he was 17.
Jensen is also accused of sending the teenager explicit photos during this period, with the teenager alleging that she would send his underage friends explicit photos as well, according to the complaint, reports the Mirror US.
"Victim 1 mentioned Stephanie Jensen was not only sending him nude pictures, but that she was sending his buddies nude content as well," read the complaint. "Victim 1 said word travelled throughout his friend group that she was willing to share, so people he knew would add her to see what she would share with them."
When confronted by detectives, Jensen denied having sexual relations with the teenager. However, she allegedly confessed to transmitting naked photographs and videos to the teen, stated police.
When the detective informed Jensen she would be placed under arrest, she allegedly said, "I am not under arrest," and refused to rise from the sofa. A detective had to physically pull Jensen from the sofa by her arm, according to the complaint.
The woman resisted as officers placed her in handcuffs, pulling away until detectives commanded her to stop.
Jensen has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography, several counts of Child Enticement and Exposing Intimate Parts to a Child, and 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, according to the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff's Office. Following her arrest, Jensen was dismissed from the school.
"Faith Lutheran School has terminated the employment of Stephanie Jensen upon formal charges being filed in court on Monday," the school said in a statement. "The faculty, staff, and administration at Faith are committed to the safety and care of our students, staff, families, and community. We pray for all who are affected by these events as we continue to put our faith and trust in the Lord."
Jensen is due to appear in court on Tuesday and has been instructed to avoid all contact with the victim or other children. She has also been banned from using social media.
