Brits may want to hold off putting their sunhats and sunglasses away as the UK is set to enjoy a warm blast of 20C sunshine in just a matter of days. As September draws to a close the UK will welcome an early autumn dose of warm and sunny weather.
Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, told the Daily Express that the upcoming burst of hot weather is too early to call an "Indian Summer with October being the usual month and November being exceptional if it ever happens". The weather forecaster predicts that the "next few days will be warm by the afternoons for England and Wales". He adds that this late September hot spell is typical of "the time we are in".
He said: "Ordinarily it is cooler/colder during this time of month but climate changes the face of things, even if only by a few degrees. We need an ex hurricane to the west of Ireland ideally to have an Indian summer but at the moment the latest is too far south and the next too far north. Patience required I'm afraid."
Nevertheless millions across the UK can look forward to sunnier weather than Spain over the upcoming days. On Monday, September 29 the capital is forecast to see the mercury swell to 20C with bright sunshine forecast, according to the Met Office.
Although Benidorm will see slightly warmer weather of 23C the holiday hotspot is forecast to have wet and miserable weather on Monday, as per the Met Office's weather forecast.

There is a 70% chance of rain with downpours forecast to dominate the majority of the day. Malaga is also forecast wet weather on Monday with the Met Office predicting a 70- 90% chance of rain from midnight to mid afternoon.
Parts of southern Spain are under a yellow weather warning for rain from midnight on Monday September 29 until 3pm.
Spain's State Meteorological Agency says: "Moderate damages to people and properties may occur, especially to those vulnerable or in exposed areas."
Southern England and Wales will also see blue skies on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures predicted to hit 20C on both days.
In the Met Office's weather outlook for this period the forecaster says: "A northwest-southeast split for much of next week, with rain and stronger winds at times in the former whilst plenty of dry weather prevailing for the latter."
